2. There is a $40 annual registration fee due January 1st.

3. All competitive gymnasts must pay the annual $49 USA Gymnastics Membership fee.

4. All compulsory Gymnasts must purchase the competitive tank leotard, team warm-up and T-Shirt.

5. All optional Gymnasts must purchase the long sleeve competitive leotard, Team T-shirt and Team warm-up.

6. All parents must participate in 1 fund-raiser for the gym.

7. Acceptable Booster Club fund-raisers are bake sales, car washes, candy sale, lock-ins, raffles and drawings. Do not go out and ask for cash or check donations.

8. Parents are not allowed in the gym area.

9. Please do not approach a coach during a class. If you want to meet with a coach, talk with the office secretary and a meeting will be set up as soon as possible.

10. Please do not coach your child. That is what you pay coaches for.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance at all scheduled workouts is expected.

Make-ups are not allowed unless a workout is canceled. Make-up workout times are at the coach’s discretion.

If your child is absent during a meet week she will not be allowed to compete. Extenuating circumstances such as severe illness or a death in the family will be considered. All meet fees and coaches fees are NON-REFUNDABLE!

Arriving late to training disrupts the workout. Consistent absences and tardiness result in your child's lack of preparation for competition.

Our time spent in the gym is a crucial factor for success at competitions.

MOBILITY

Mobility is the movement of the gymnasts from one level to the next. USA Gymnastics and the OLYMPIC DREAMS Competitive Team programs both have established rules of mobility. Gymnasts will be placed relative to their fulfillment of the criteria that USA Gymnastics has established. USA Gymnastics mobility is based solely on scores achieved in USA sanctioned competitions.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that gymnastics is a very technical, perfection-oriented sport. Advancement in the sport depends solely on how well the basics are mastered. Similar to a pyramid, the larger a base of support (basics), the higher the pyramid will stand (ultimate goal level).

With this in mind, it should not be assumed that gymnasts should merely achieve their mobility score and move to the next level. Programs which do that set up the athletes to eventually "hit the wall", that is they stop learning because of missing mastery of the basic compulsory elements.

The score established by USA Gymnastics create a VERY BASIC proficiency level to attain before moving on. IN NO WAY DOES IT AUTOMATICALLY MOVE THE GYMNAST TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

The OLYMPIC DREAMS Competitive Team has established national standards for level placement. These standards are based on what the best clubs in the country are doing, not just by what is being done in Beaumont, the Golden Triangle or Texas.

We feel that it is very important for a child to feel successful at gymnastics. One way we accomplish this is by having the gymnasts compete at a level that they are comfortable. This allows them to work the necessary basic elements that will help them in the future.

The following criterion helps us decide the placement of each gymnast.

Physical Preparedness

An assessment is made of strength, flexibility, endurance, agility, quickness and suppleness.

Emotional and Psychological Readiness

These attributes are observable in a subjective way as opposed to an objective manner. They readily indicate the child's ability to overcome reasonable fears, to make quick yet sound judgments and their self-motivation and dedication in achieving their goals.
